the AVPA1HDCI sets the standard for both audio and video processing ability, along with state-of-the-art next-generation digital media connectivity.
AVPA1HDCI is equipped with an astonishing six individual power transformers to ensure the ultimate audio and video fidelity, eliminating interference between the various audio and video processing sections.
The AVPA1HDCI is equipped with 12 high definition video inputs (6 HDMI ver. 1.3a inputs/6 components) and an additional 16 standard definition inputs, with deinterlacing, upscaling, and conversion to HDMI outputs via the Silicon Optix HQV Realta reference video processor.

More bandwidth equals more information transmitted through the cable, so the audio can reach its full potential through stereo, Dolby Digital TrueHD, and DTS-HD. The AVPA1HDCI features Dolby TrueHD and dts-HD Master Audio decoding. With 100% lossless coding technology (thanks to very high bit rates), you'll hear sound identical to the studio master.
Denon also includes their new technology to restore compressed formats including mp3/WMA/AAC. It will reproduce higher frequency range and deeper bass sound. You get HDMI-equipped components in four different zones that can be run at the same time. HDMI version 1.3a has more bandwidth which allows more information to be passed, so it supports 36-bit color depth and xvYCC color space, meaning an even broader range of colors can be used. More colors equals more realism. Even if you don't have the most current components, you can still get high definition entertainment thanks to analog-to-HDMI and HDMI-to-HDMI upconversion. This means that standard definition content can be improved to look like high definition. A high-speed, high-accuracy 12-bit/216 MHz video DAC is used in the video circuitry for component video, S-video, and composite video signals. This DAC enhances the reproducibility of delicate-level video signals, allowing high-definition video to be played back with greater fidelity to the original images. In addition, noise shaped video (NSV) technology improves video S/N for greater signal linearity. A technology called Faroudja DCDi processing uses mathematical algorithms to fill in blank spots and eliminate jagged edges, ensuring the sharpest picture possible.
The AVPA1HDCI also uses AL24 Processing Plus  Packaged with DENON Link III (enabling high-speed, high-grade digital signal transmission), and a large-output power amp section and power supply configuration for stable high-power output Expands to four zones and four sources with the Denon AVPA1HDCI. Get digital to analog conversion for multi-zone output, simultaneous dual HDMI output, dual component outputs, and independent zone 2 component output. Experience the maximum freedom with multi-zone setup. The AVPA1HDCI also has extensive networking capabilities. Connections like USB, Ethernet, and RS-232C let you play back music files from your PC or DLNA server, access over 7000 Internet radio stations, and show a JPEG Photo slideshow. Room EQ, featuring MultEQ XT from Audyssey, gives you overall listening area support using the supplied microphone. You'll quickly get just the right set up for your listening area. With configurable center, surround, and surround back amplifiers, you have some options for multi-room use. For example, you could enjoy 7.1-channel theater sound in the main room and a monaural environment in a second and third room.
The AVPA1HDCI also provides full support for the most advanced surround playback formats. In addition to the powerful THX, THX Surround EX and THX Ultra2 post processing modes, you get support for Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic IIx, DTS-ES, DTS 96/24, DTS Neo:6 and HDCD. The AVPA1HDCI is also XM Satellite ready with an optional "connect and play" antenna. Of course, you also need a subscription to XM services.
Connectivity and expandability
The AVPA1HDCI provides a terminal for connecting your iPod on the back panel. With the separately-sold ASD1R, you can connect and play your iPod. A USB terminal that lets you connect your USB-compatible portable music player is provided behind the trap door on the front panel. You can connect the player to this terminal and play the MP3 or WMA (Windows Media) files directly through your AVPA1HDCI system.
